Simple Guide For Okey Plus
2023-05-28
Okey Plus is a popular tile-based game that is similar to Rummikub. It can be played with 2-4 players and is typically played with a set of 106 tiles. The game is a combination of skill and luck, and the objective is to be the first player to empty their hand of tiles.

The game begins with each player receiving 14 tiles. The remaining tiles are placed face down on the table, and the top tile is turned face up to start the discard pile. The player to the right of the dealer starts the game, and play continues in a clockwise direction.

Each player takes turns drawing a tile from either the face down stack or the discard pile. If a player draws a tile from the discard pile, they must use it to make a meld before their turn ends. A meld is a combination of three or more tiles of the same value and different colors, or three or more consecutive tiles of the same color. Once a player has made a meld, they can add on to it using tiles from their hand.

Players can also lay down tiles in sets of three or more of the same value, regardless of color. These sets are called ‘groups’. Groups can consist of mixed colors or be of the same color. For example, a group could be made up of three black 10 tiles.

Players can only pick up tiles from the discard pile if they can use the tile to make a new meld, add to an existing meld, or create a new group. If a player cannot use the tile, they must take a tile from the face down stack. If the face down stack runs out of tiles, the discard pile is shuffled to create a new stack.

In addition to melds and groups, players can also win by forming a ‘run’. A run is a meld of seven or more consecutive tiles of the same color. If a player forms a run, they can immediately declare a win.

The game also includes special tiles, called ‘jokers’. Jokers can be used as a substitute for any other tile. If a player wants to use a joker in a meld, they must state which tile it is replacing.

In Okey Plus, the joker is represented by a tile with a yellow dot. This tile can be used to replace any other tile to complete a meld or group. If a player draws the yellow dot tile from the face down stack or the discard pile, they can declare it as a joker.

The game continues until one player has emptied their hand of tiles, declaring a win. If all the tiles have been picked up from the face down stack and no player has declared a win, the game ends in a draw.

Overall, Okey Plus is an exciting and challenging game that requires strategic thinking and luck. It can be played with friends and family or online with players from around the world. The game is easy to learn but difficult to master, making it a fun and engaging experience for all ages and skill levels.
