Okey is a traditional Turkish game of skill and strategy that is played with a set of 106 tiles. The object of the game is to be the first player to complete a hand of 14 tiles according to a specific set of rules. The game is similar to Rummy but has its own unique rules and gameplay.
Gameplay:
At the beginning of the game, each player is dealt 15 tiles facedown, except for the dealer who gets 16. The remaining tiles are placed in the middle of the table and are known as the 'stock'. The top tile of the stock is then turned face up to start the 'discard pile'.
The objective of the game is to create sets of 3 or 4 tiles of the same rank or runs of 3 or more tiles of the same suit. A set of tiles is known as a 'meld'. The tiles used in a meld can either be present in the player's hand or can be drawn from the stock or the discard pile.
The game proceeds in a clockwise direction with each player taking turns to draw a tile from the stock or take the top tile from the discard pile. If a player draws a tile from the stock and it does not match any of the tiles in their hand, they must discard it face up on the discard pile.
