Minesweeper is a classic puzzle game that has stood the test of time. The objective of the game is to clear a board of hidden landmines without detonating any of them. The game is played on a square grid where each cell contains either a mine or a number indicating how many mines are adjacent to that square. The game is won when all non-mine cells are uncovered.
Gameplay
At the start of the game, the player is presented with a grid of covered cells. The size of the grid and the number of mines are set by the player, and can be adjusted to vary the difficulty of the game. The player then chooses a cell to uncover by left-clicking on it with the mouse. If the chosen cell contains a mine, the game is lost and the player must start over. If the chosen cell does not contain a mine, the number of adjacent mines is displayed in the cell. The player can use this information to deduce the locations of nearby mines.
If the player believes a cell contains a mine, they can flag it by right-clicking on it with the mouse. Flagged cells are treated as covered cells and cannot be uncovered by left-clicking. The player can also mark a cell they are unsure about with a question mark by right-clicking twice. Once all non-mine cells are uncovered, the game is won and the player is awarded a score based on the size of the grid, the number of mines, and the time taken to complete the game.
